Eleven years after opening our doors to 40 students, we ceremonial broke ground on our new permanent location!
Our community: students, faculty, staff, parents, board members, alumni, alumni parents, donors, volunteers, community leaders, elected officials, and friends joyously joined together yesterday in the Jaguar gym. Speakers recounted the pioneering spirit, dedication, and hard work by everyone involved in creating and building New Community Jewish High School.
The strength of the NCJHS community was evident by lots of hugging, laughter, reunions, and tears among the guests. Board of Trustees presidents and past presidents, together with student body leaders passed the Torah and the shovel ~ the foundations of our faith and our new home. Councilman Dennis Zine presented a certificate on behalf of the city of Los Angeles.
Everyone present signed the “witness” canvas to leave their permanent mark on this historic day!
