Welcome

Dear Parents,

placeholder

We are thrilled that you have chosen to learn more about New Community Jewish High School. We look forward to introducing you to our vibrant and academically rigorous school community.

As you explore options for high school, we invite you to consider the qualities you want your child to possess upon graduation.

  • Our graduates attend colleges around the country armed with optimism and the tools to make constructive and meaningful changes in our world. They are intellectually curious and understand the value of their roles as active participants in their community.

  • Our alumni, whether current students at UC Berkeley, University of Arizona, Princeton or any one of the more than 200 colleges to which they have received acceptances, report feeling academically prepared and confident to move ahead in their young adult lives.

  • Our alumni who are college graduates are working in a variety of professional positions at prestigious companies across the country and/or pursuing advanced degrees in medicine, film, law, international relations, graphic design, dentistry, psychology, business, education, special education, Jewish communal work, entertainment, makeup artistry, sociology, and fundraising.

The New Community Jewish High School journey challenges each student, one mind at a time. Our student body is comprised of students from over 50 public and private middle and high schools, with a wide range of Jewish backgrounds. Our students work closely with college advisors to prepare their individual course loads from options in Honors, AP, and grade level classes, reflecting a range of average to exceptional academic abilities. Our students involve themselves in clubs, competitive sports, theatre arts, student council, community service, and more.

Incoming students, embraced by the warmth of their classmates, teachers, and school administrators, express deep gratitude for the kindness and compassion that is our school's trademark. A parent get-together in June and a break-the-ice retreat for ninth graders in August the week before school starts are highlights of our dedication to community building. Education at NCJHS provides students with the context for valuing kindness. Our faculty members are role models of courage and caring. As a team, we seek to support teenagers as they navigate through some of the most challenging years of their lives.

The best way to get to know “New Jew,” as we are affectionately called, is to visit us. Please join us for one of two Open Houses and also choose a day for your student to spend time at school, hosted by our Student Ambassadors. Let them experience firsthand the culture of kindness within our student body of 400, and let them observe the personal attention students receive in classes with an average size of fifteen.

The New Community Jewish High School Board of Trustees has made a strong commitment to students who desire both an outstanding secular and Jewish education. It is the intention of NCJHS to award tuition assistance to families who demonstrate need, based on financial means.

Please contact us to learn more about New Community Jewish High School. We look forward to hearing from you.
